One of the least talked-about perks of Villa Vacanze Valentina: Rome is an hour away, yet in the evening you come home to sleep in the silence of Tuscia. The best way to experience the Eternal City — intensely by day, without the chaos at night.

Getting there: the Orte train trick

Orte station is 15 minutes from the villa, with ample parking: from there, fast regional trains reach Roma Tiburtina and Termini in about 40-50 minutes, with no traffic and no restricted traffic zones (ZTL). Alternatively, driving down the A1 only makes sense on public holidays.

The essential one-day itinerary

Morning: the Colosseum and the Imperial Fora (book your tickets online). Lunch in Monti or Trastevere. Afternoon: the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain on foot — the centre is smaller than it looks. Back on the 7 pm train, and dinner in the garden in the quiet of the villa.

Perfect for...

Anyone who wants the best of both worlds: the art and energy of Rome, the green and the silence of Tuscia. Many of our guests give Rome just one day of their stay — and thank us for the train tip.
