Villa Vacanze Valentina is a holiday home with a pool one hour from Rome, in Bassano in Teverina, in the province of Viterbo: two apartments in the villa for families and a wooden cottage for couples, set in a 3,000 m² garden in the green Tuscia countryside. The A1 motorway exit at Orte is a quarter of an hour away, Orte railway station 15 minutes.
To see Rome at an easy pace, it pays not to sleep there. From Orte, the fast regional trains reach Termini in 45-50 minutes, dozens of departures a day, and in the evening you come back to the cool of the countryside — no restricted-traffic zones, no impossible parking, no city heat.

Anyone looking for a house with a pool near Rome often pictures it all to themselves. Ours is not, and we would rather say so here than on arrival. The pool at Villa Vacanze Valentina is shared by just three accommodations: two apartments for up to four guests and a cottage for two. It is not a lido and it is not a resort: it is the garden of a family home, 3,000 m² of green with the water in the middle and the countryside all around. It is open from mid-May to mid-October, 8 am to 10 pm, and is included in the stay. If you need exclusive use for a day, write to us: it is something we look at together, case by case.
The weekend out of Rome,
from the motorway exit to the garden
From Rome you take the A1 northbound and leave it at Orte. From the exit to the villa is 15 minutes; an hour's drive in all. Check-in is from 3 pm. Your car comes into the property and stays there: the car park is inside and free of charge. From that moment the weekend is short on road and long on time. In summer the pool until evening, then the outdoor kitchen with the barbecue. In the other seasons the villages: the Monster Park of Bomarzo is 10 minutes away, Vitorchiano 15, Viterbo 25. On Sunday you leave without hurry: by 10 am from the apartments, by 11 am from the cottage. It is the right place for a family that wants its own kitchen and room for the children: each apartment has two bedrooms, a full kitchen with dishwasher, and sleeps up to four. It is right for a couple looking for a place of their own: the Lovers' Cottage stands apart from the villa, with its own bathroom and a private garden. For two families travelling together, the two apartments are side by side. It is not the right place if you are looking for a whole villa with a pool for exclusive use, or for breakfast served. What you find here is a real home, and the family that lives in it.

How far is the holiday home from Rome?
One hour by car: the villa is in Bassano in Teverina, in the Viterbo countryside of Tuscia, 15 minutes from the Orte A1 motorway exit. Alternatively, Orte station is 15 minutes away, with fast regional trains reaching Roma Termini in 45-50 minutes.
Is it better to go to Rome by train or by car?
By train: from Orte the fast regional trains reach Termini in 45-50 minutes, with dozens of departures a day at around 5-6 € each way, and station parking costs just a few euros. Central Rome is a restricted-traffic zone with electronic gates: leave the car with us.
Why stay outside Rome rather than in the city?

Is the pool included in the stay?
Yes. The outdoor pool, the 3,000 m² garden, the gazebos and the barbecue are available to all guests of the villa, at no extra cost: they are shared by the three accommodations, and the pool is open from mid-May to mid-October, from 8 am to 10 pm.
Can I book directly without paying commission?

Is the pool for exclusive use?
No, and we say so up front. It is shared by the three accommodations in the villa: two apartments and a cottage for two. At most, two families and a couple. For a day of exclusive use you can write to us: we will look at it together, depending on the season.
Where can we spend two relaxing days near Rome?
An hour from Rome, in Tuscia, there is what you need to switch off: countryside, villages, lakes. With us the plan can even stay empty: the garden, the pool in summer, the barbecue in the evening. If you want to get out and about, Bomarzo is 10 minutes away and Viterbo 25.
Can we have the villa with pool for a day, for a party?
By request only, and always after we have talked: intimate weddings, anniversaries, family celebrations. It cannot be booked online and there are no packages. You will find everything on the page about the exclusive villa for events.
What time do we arrive and what time do we leave?
Check-in is from 3 pm. Check-out is by 10 am from the apartments and by 11 am from the Lovers' Cottage. Early arrivals and late departures can be arranged in advance, for an extra charge: write to us and we will see what is possible for your dates.
Are pets allowed?
In the two apartments, yes: one per apartment, with a daily supplement, and you need to tell us when you book. The large garden is fenced. In the Lovers' Cottage, however, we cannot accept them.
