The pool at holiday home Villa Valentina, one hour from Rome
One hour from Rome · Tuscia

Holiday home with pool
near Rome.

A villa surrounded by the green Tuscia countryside: Rome one hour away by car or 45 minutes by train from Orte, and the silence of the countryside instead of the traffic in the evening.

The strategy

Rome by day.
Pool in the evening.

Villa Vacanze Valentina is a holiday home with a pool one hour from Rome, in Bassano in Teverina, in the province of Viterbo: two apartments in the villa for families and a wooden cottage for couples, set in a 3,000 m² garden in the green Tuscia countryside. The A1 motorway exit at Orte is a quarter of an hour away, Orte railway station 10 minutes.

The most relaxing way to visit Rome is not to sleep there. From Orte, the fast regional trains reach Termini in 45-50 minutes, dozens of departures a day, and in the evening you come back to the cool of the countryside — no restricted-traffic zones, no impossible parking, no city heat.

And on the days without Rome, you are already in the heart of Tuscia: Bomarzo, Viterbo, Civita di Bagnoregio, Orvieto. On the blog you will find our "Rome in a day" guide, with verified times and tickets.
