Anyone looking for a holiday home with a pool near Viterbo usually has to choose: either a convenient location, or the silence of the countryside. At Villa Vacanze Valentina you don't have to: Bassano in Teverina is a quiet village in the heart of Tuscia, 15 minutes from the A1 motorway.
Since 2020 we have hosted families and couples who want the pool, the greenery and the freedom of a real home — with the welcome of a family, not the front desk of a hotel.

Anyone looking for a holiday home in Viterbo has two choices. Sleep in the city, within walking distance of the medieval centre. Or choose the province, where in the evening all you hear is the countryside. We are the second choice, and we say so straight away: Villa Vacanze Valentina is not in the city. It is in Bassano in Teverina, 25 minutes by car from Viterbo. In return you get a 3,000 m² garden, the pool and the silence. Viterbo is a day trip, and you are back for dinner. And from here the rest of Tuscia is within easy reach too: Bomarzo 10 minutes away, Vitorchiano 15, Villa Lante 20.

two apartments and a cottage
The villa is a single property with three independent accommodations. The two apartments are in the same building, side by side. Each has two bedrooms, its own full kitchen with dishwasher, and sleeps up to four. One of the two has a fireplace, with the firewood included. The Lovers' Cottage stands apart, built of wood and made for two: it has its own indoor bathroom and a private garden. Everything else is shared by just the three accommodations: the large garden, the pool, the outdoor kitchen with barbecue, the table tennis, the car park inside the property. Stefano's parents live in the villa. It is a family home, open to guests since 2020.
The pool,
from mid-May to mid-October
The pool is outdoors, in the garden, and is open from mid-May to mid-October, 8 am to 10 pm. It is included in the stay, at no extra cost, and there are sun loungers around it. It is not for exclusive use: it is shared by the three accommodations in the villa. At most, then, two families and a couple. By the pool there is an open-air shower, also shared. Out of season the pool closes, but the villa stays open all year round: the accommodations are heated, and in autumn and winter Tuscia is all villages, woods and slow days.

From Bassano in Teverina the province fans out around you. Within twenty minutes: the Monster Park of Bomarzo, Vitorchiano, Villa Lante in Bagnaia, Soriano nel Cimino. Within half an hour: Viterbo, Vignanello, Celleno, the beech forest of Monte Cimino. A little further: Caprarola and Sant'Angelo di Roccalvecce at 35 minutes, Lake Bolsena and Lake Vico at 40, Civita di Bagnoregio at 45. Villa Vacanze Valentina is in Bassano in Teverina, in the province of Viterbo, in the heart of Tuscia. Viterbo is about 25 minutes away by car, the Parco dei Mostri di Bomarzo (Monster Park) 10 minutes, and Rome one hour. The A1 motorway exit at Orte is a quarter of an hour away.
Is the pool included in the stay?
Yes. The outdoor pool, the 3,000 m² garden, the gazebos and the barbecue are available to all guests of the villa, at no extra cost: they are shared by the three accommodations, and the pool is open from mid-May to mid-October, from 8 am to 10 pm.
Is it suitable for families with children?
Yes: the Apartments in the Villa are designed for families, with independent spaces, an equipped kitchen and a large garden where children can play freely. For couples there is the Lovers' Cottage instead.
Can I book directly without paying commission?

Are pets allowed?
In the two apartments, yes — one pet per apartment, with a daily supplement: we simply ask you to let us know when you book. In the cottage for couples we cannot accept them.
Where should we stay to explore Tuscia?
Somewhere with every destination within an hour. Bassano in Teverina is one of those places: Bomarzo 10 minutes away, Viterbo 25, Lake Bolsena 40, Civita di Bagnoregio 45, Orvieto 50. A different destination every day, and always the same bed to come back to.
Is it better to stay in Viterbo itself or in the province?
It depends on what you are looking for. In the city you get around on foot and have everything on your doorstep. In the province you have space, greenery and silence, and you reach the city by car. From us Viterbo is 25 minutes away: you need a car, and we would rather say so up front.
Is the pool private?
No. It is shared by the three accommodations in the villa: two apartments for up to four guests and a cottage for two. It is open from mid-May to mid-October, 8 am to 10 pm, and is included in the stay. For a day of exclusive use you can write to us: we will look at it together.
Is the holiday home open in winter too?
Yes, all year round. The accommodations are heated with radiators and one of the two apartments has a real fireplace, with the firewood included. The pool closes in mid-October and reopens in mid-May: in the colder months people come for the villages and for the quiet.
Is there a deposit or a tourist tax?
No. We ask for no deposit, and in Bassano in Teverina there is no tourist tax. If you book through our website, cancellation is free up to 24 hours before arrival; if you book on a portal, that portal's conditions apply.
