The Sacro Bosco 10 minutes away, a villa with a pool surrounded by greenery and the silence of Bassano in Teverina: the perfect base camp for Europe's strangest garden.
A stone's throw
from the monsters.
The Monster Park of Bomarzo — the Sacro Bosco, the "Sacred Wood" commissioned in 1552 by Vicino Orsini — is considered the oldest sculpture park of the modern world: the Ogre with its gaping mouth, the war elephant, the Leaning House. Day-trippers from Rome spend hours in the car; sleep at our place and you are there in 10 minutes, at opening time, while the wood is still silent.
Villa Vacanze Valentina is in Bassano in Teverina, the village next door: a pool, a 3,000 m² garden and independent accommodation for families and couples. On the blog you will find our complete guide to the Monster Park, with verified opening hours and prices.

How far is the holiday home from the Monster Park of Bomarzo?
About 10 minutes by car. Villa Vacanze Valentina is in Bassano in Teverina, the neighbouring village: we are the ideal place to stay if you want to visit the Sacro Bosco just as it opens, while the wood is still quiet.
How long does a visit to the Monster Park take?
The trail winds through about three hectares of woodland, past more than thirty sculptures: allow 1.5–2 hours at an easy pace. On our blog you will find a complete guide with opening hours, 2026 prices and the works not to miss.
Is the Monster Park suitable for children?
Very much so: stone ogres to climb inside, the Leaning House that throws you off balance, elephants and dragons. It is one of the favourite outings for the families who stay with us — and the pool is waiting when you get back.
Do I need to book Sacro Bosco tickets in advance?
The park is open all year round and tickets are normally bought on site; on spring weekends and public holidays it is best to arrive at opening time. As our guests, you always get the latest information when you arrive.
